New York OSHA Safety Training is Required by State Law.New York OSHA Safety Training is mandated by state law in many jobs.  New York has a State Plan, approved by OSHA in June of 1984.  The New York Public Employees Safety and Health (PESH) Bureau is part of the New York Department of Labor with main offices in the state capitol of Albany. New York PESH covers all state and local government workplaces in the state, including state, county, town, and village governments; as well as state and local government authorities, school districts, and paid and volunteer fire departments. OSHA maintains coverage over all private sector workplaces and federal agencies including the United States Postal Service (USPS).


New York OSHA Safety Training Special State Requirements

Special note for New York OSHA Safety Training: According to New York State law, every worker needs to be certified as having completed an OSHA 10 safety training course on public work projects of $250,000 or more. The intent is to require that all employees of public work contractors receive such training “prior to the performing any work on the project. Proof of completion may include a copy of a course completion certificate or an OSHA Wallet Card.

Special circumstances for New York City:  The OSHA 10 hour construction course is required on all NYC DOB major public and private projects, and certifications must be current within 5 years. The requirements went into effect on July 18, 2008.

New York  OSHA 10 Hour Courses

Federal OSHA guidelines and regulations have set forth standards for essential safety training through their Outreach Training Program. We offer 100% OSHA-Accepted Courses for those workers in New York. For construction workers, our OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training Course will lead to your compliance with state law. Those that are required to be compliant but are in non-construction industries such as manufacturing, distribution. logistics, health care, education and other industries will need to enroll in the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Training Course.  Both courses are available through computer-based training, with a FREE Study Guide. Workers can complete the course in as little as two days (but you have up to 90 days to complete the course once you start). After your successful completion of the course, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion that can be used for proof of compliance. Your Department of Labor OSHA Wallet Card will be sent in the mail within a few weeks.


New York OSHA 30 Hour Courses

New York OSHA Safety Training  may also include valuable instruction at the supervisor level and above. Construction company management, foremen, line supervisors and executives will benefit from this OSHA-Accepted Instruction. The OSHA 30 Hour Construction Industry Training Course can be taken online or on-site in about four days.

Those executives and line management individuals in the non-construction industries, also have the opportunity to obtain a similar level of risk management training by taking the OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Training Course, which also takes about four days.

Both courses are accompanied by a Course Study Guide FREE of charge. Similar to their 10 hour course counterparts, the student receives a certificate of course completion immediately upon successful passing of the final exam. The appropriate OSHA Wallet Card follows within a few weeks.

All courses, 10 hour and 30 hour, are OSHA-Accepted. The courses can be taken online or through group training at the company.  Those choosing on-site training will receive corporate discounts and preferred billing accommodations.
