OSHA 10 hour online training courses & Classes FOR 10 & 30 Hour Construction Card in Connecticut
OSHA Safety Training in Connecticut is provided via online curriculum with our OSHA 10 Hour Construction or OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Courses. These courses are Nationally Approved and are taught by OSHA-Authorized Instructors. The courses come with access to a downloadable Study Guide to help with the course and the exams. Each of these OSHA 10 hour courses takes about two days to complete. Once you’ve completed the final exam you may immediately print out your certificate of completion for job-related requirements. Your Department of Labor OSHA Wallet Card will be sent to you within 4-6 weeks in the mail.
The Connecticut Department of Labor’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health is referred to as CONN-OSHA. CONN-OSHA administers Connecticut’s Public Employer Only State Plan and enforces occupational safety and health standards as they apply to all municipal and state employees. As a State Plan state, CONN-OSHA adopts and enforces standards that are at least as effective as the federal requirements.
OSHA Safety Training – Connecticut Special State Requirements
Special note for Connecticut OSHA Safety Training: According to Connecticut State law, the OSHA 10 hour Construction Course is required for all employees of any public building project paid for in whole or part by state funding, or any of its agencies, where the total cost is over $100,000. Each contractor needs to furnish proof that all employees have taken the OSHA 10 hour Construction Course within 30 days of being awarded the contract. Employees who have not completed the course are subject to removal from the work site. This law went into effect in 2007.
As in virtually all situations, the OSHA 10 hour course completion card or other proof, like a completion certificate is required to show compliance.
Special circumstances for Connecticut: The OSHA 10 hour construction course must be retaken every 5 years. There are some exceptions for the requirement that include site work, roads or bridges, rail lines, parking lots or underground water, sewer or drainage systems including pump houses or other utility systems.
OSHA Safety Training Programs in Connecticut include courses for supervisors, foremen, line managers and executives on basic safety and the principles of managing risk. These courses are longer, four days, and cover much more material at a deeper depth. The OSHA 30 Hour Construction Course is available through computer-based, online instruction. This course is also available with access to it’s downloadable, free study guides. For this 30 hour course, the student may take up to 180 days to complete the course once started. On all computer online courses, logins to multiple computers are allowed with no limit to the number of logins you take to complete the course in the established time frame.
