Louisiana OSHA Safety Training

Louisiana OSHA Safety Training Programs now available online and on-site OSHA Safety Training program courses in Louisiana are available from us to support Federal OSHA regulations and guidelines. The program begins with the essential safety training foundation courses found in the OSHA Outreach Training curriculum. Construction workers will want to enroll in the OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach Training Course. Those workers that are not in the construction industry, will choose to enroll in the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Training Course.  Both are easily taken online through computer-based training.  If companies wish to train multiple employees at a time, our OSHA-Authorized Instructors can come to your location and provide company-specific training at group discounts.

Louisiana is not a State Plan state,  that is, it does not have a federally approved occupational safety and health regulatory program. Private sector employers are governed by the federal OSH Act and must follow federal job safety and health requirements. There are no state safety and health regulations for public sector workplaces.

Public sector (state government agencies, commissions, and school systems) workplaces must comply with the requirements of the state’s Loss Prevention Program. Each agency will determine whether site- or task-specific safety rules are necessary and what they will cover for the safety of their employees.

Private sector employers of more than 15 employees must have a fully implemented workplace safety plan in place.

OSHA administers and enforces occupational safety and health requirements for private sector workplaces. The State of Louisiana Department of Administration, Office of Risk Management (ORM) administers the state Loss Prevention Program for public sector workplaces through periodic audits. The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) conducts on-site safety consultations and administers the Office of State Procurement requirements.
