OSHA Safety Training programs for Oklahoma workers are available from OSHA Pros USA to support Federal OSHA regulations and guidelines. A downloadable, free study guide is provided to help the student study and pass the exam.
Oklahoma is not a “state plan” state; that is, it does not have a federally approved occupational safety and health plan. Therefore, the federal OSH Act governs occupational safety and health requirements in the private sector workplace. The OSHA General Duty Clause mandates that all companies provide a safe environment for their workers.
Public sector (state and local government operations) employers are governed by the state’s own workplace safety and health rules, which have adopted the federal rules except that the state rules for injury and illness record keeping are stricter than the federal equivalent. The state rules for reporting fatalities and hospitalizations are less strict than the federal rules. The state requires certain public sector workplaces to adopt formal safety programs. Oklahoma’s Department of Labor, Workplace Safety and Health Division, provides consultative services for companies to help promote safety.
OSHA Safety Training For Non-State Plan States – Oklahoma
OSHA Safety Training courses for Oklahoma construction workers is modeled after OSHA’s Outreach Training Program, which is an online program that consists of two levels of essential safety training. The first level corresponds to non-supervisory, line workers (see below for management and supervisor-level training). The OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training Course covers an overview of those important concepts in basic workplace safety. These course has been proven effective in reducing workplace accidents and fatalities. If the worker takes their course on line via computer, they can complete the course over two days (but they may take up to 180 days). At that point they can immediately print their Certificate of complete as proof of their accomplishment. This document in many cases may satisfy job site regulations or employee/contractor requirements (check with your employer or contractor). The official Department of Labor OSHA Wallet Card will be sent through the mail in a few weeks. If taken on-site with one of our OSHA-Authorized instructors, those cards are issued immediately.
Workers that need their OSHA Safety Training but are in such non-construction industries as manufacturing, health care, distribution, warehousing, logistics or others, are encouraged to take the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Training Course. This Nationally-Accepted course covers the essential training for workers in non-manufacturing roles and responsibilities. Similarly, the 10 hour course can be taken on line and finished in a two-day time period (with up to 180 days maximum). The OSHA Wallet Card follows a few weeks later. On-site courses, similarly can be arranged.
OSHA Safety Training is also available for supervisors, foremen, line managers and executives on basic safety and the principles of managing risk in a construction environment. The OSHA 30 Hour Construction Course is available through computer-based, online instruction. This course also has an accessible, FREE study guide to help the student through the course. The 30 hour course is usually a four day effort online. The instructions allows you to log in and out of multiple computers to take your training. At the successful end of the course you’ll get your certificate of completion with your OSHA Wallet Card being sent a few weeks later.
