Massachusetts OSHA Safety Training
OSHA Safety Training in Massachusetts is required by all workers at a construction sites state wide. The Executive Office of Labor Workforce and Development (EOLWD) houses the authority for Labor Standards, Unemployment Insurance, Workplace Safety and Worker’s Compensation. The Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety is responsible for conducting free investigations of workplace health hazards upon request of a public sector employer, employee, union, Board of Health or upon referral by another agency or health professional. They operate several highlighted programs for Asbestos, Lead and Mine Safety, in addition to supplying consultative services, statistics and reporting services.
OSHA Safety Training Special State Requirements for Massachusetts
Special note for OSHA Safety Training in Massachusetts: According to Massachusetts State law, all employees to be employed at construction work sites need to complete the OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training Course before beginning work at the work site. Any employee found on a work site subject to this section without documentation of successful completion of the OSHA 10 Hour course is subject to immediate removal. The Massachusetts law specifically says “At least 10 hours” so the OSHA 30 hour Construction Training Course would also enable the worker to meet these requirements. The law went into effect in 2004.
OSHA 10 Hour Courses for Massachusetts Workers
Federal OSHA guidelines and regulations have set forth standards for essential safety training through their Outreach Training Program. OSHA Safety Training guidelines include basic and advanced safety training for both construction and non-construction workers. Your Department of Labor OSHA Wallet Card will be sent in the mail within a few weeks.
OSHA 30 Hour Courses for Massachusetts Workers
OSHA Safety Training in Massachusetts may also include valuable instruction at the supervisor level and above. Construction company management, foremen, line supervisors and executives should enroll in this Nationally-Accepted Instruction. The OSHA 30 Hour Construction Industry Training Course can be taken online or on-site in about four days.
This 30 hour course also allows the student to download the Free Course Study Guide. Similar to the 10 hour course counterpart, the student receives a certificate of course completion immediately upon successful passing of the final exam. The appropriate OSHA Wallet Card follows within a few weeks.
All courses, 10 hour and 30 hour, are Nationally-Accepted in all 50 states. The courses can be taken online or through group training at the company. Those choosing on-site training will receive corporate discounts and preferred billing accommodations.
